Applied to job online through the typical process of entering information and uploading resume. Was contacted by an internal recruiter, whom I had contact with about a year prior when he was looking for people, so I felt good about my chances at that point. Also had a friend who did some consulting work for them and had him put in a plug for me. I was trying to hit all the boxes from the outside and inside. The interview was with the hiring manager and the VP of the division. Spent about an hour with each person and they took me through their sales process, which was very similar to what I was used to: Prospect, Qualify, Gather Requirements, Propose, Negotiate and Close. They did not ask me the typical behavioral questions that I was prepared for, rather the second interviewer asked me to take me through the highlights of my career. I took this as an opportunity to show him that I can work at all levels within an organization, communicate inside and outside, be professional and close business. While I did not get to the next stage, I was a bit miffed that I got a very standard form letter of rejection and no personalization. Looks like a great company to work for with their growth and I will continue to try to get in.
