I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Performance Software (Bothell, WA) in Oct 2015
Interview
Contacted by recruiter in Arizona. Had a good conversation and setup the in person interview. Recruiter also specified I would be given an assignment to complete before the interview. Basic documentation of an embedded system design with requirements documentation in IEEE format. That took a number or hours to complete.
Day of interview I was asked general questions about my background and had a good discussion. I was asked a few string related questions using pointers and one bit shifting related question. During the last part of the interview they described the position more and I was no longer interested. It was mostly a documentation position with little programming or development. It is more on the "engineering" side of software and very old school. They treat software development like Mechanical Engineering. That would be a great fit if the entire industry was not headed in the exact opposite direction.
They did not ask me any questions on the document I spent 4 hours preparing for the interview which was a waste of my time. Also, even though I would have turned down an offer they never contacted me after the interview. That should tell you how much they value people.
Very nice clean process. The whole interview had a great flow, everyone was very nice and friendly. I was stressed going into it but the environment made me feel very comfortable and confident.
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Performance Software in Feb 2023
Interview
Initial phone call with assistant - 15 mins
Phone call with recruiter to discuss things about job and assignment - 20-25 mins
Take home assignment.
Interview to talk about take home.
Interviewer ended up getting covid and I didn’t get a response until I asked about 2 weeks later. Was told positions were filled, so basically just a big waste of time and kept me waiting with no communication.

Hello, yes, unfortunately, our recruiter suddenly was very sick with covid, so the process was delayed. We have since put a plan in place should the recruiter get ill again from an unexpected illness. Best of luck to you with finding an internship.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Performance Software (Iowa City, IA) in Jan 2022
Interview
There was an assignment to make a software design doc, software requirement doc, and pseudo code for a garage door opener software. They said to take 4 hour on it.
Got a call back for a 1 and a half hour interview. Was told that I was going to be talking to two people, instead it was five.
Felt like a too much of a time commitment just for interviewing.
