Interview
I Applied on line for a Regional Manager position and invited to a regional interviewing event. I contacted them and said I could not attend due to work schedule and they accommodated with a phone interview. As I applied for a regional managers position I was a little surprised when the interview turned out to be for a GM position. The opportunity sounded interesting so after the 25 min interview, the next step was a one on one with a Regional Manager.
The next interview went well and I was able to ask numerous questions and felt that the answers were 100% honest.
The next step was a Job preview at a location that was 90 miles away. The preview was an eye opener. The Manager I shadowed and the staff were great. They put in a lot of hours close to 60 a week so the work/life balance could be an issue. managers do a lot of front end work and ringing on register as they appear to be short staffed. Not a problem but seems like a poor use of your managers.
The next step was an interview with a HR manager. Pretty standard questions nothing tricky.
The constant with all three interviews is are you relocatable, where do you see yourself in 5 years.
Great experience and it seems like a good company.

Interview
Applied online, interviewed with a recruiter it went very well. Set up face to face and that was great. Had third interview and a half day ride along again amazing day. Then final had multiple online assessments to complete prior to final interview. I would like to add that each interview was at least fifty miles out for me and I invested over twenty hours with this team. Last interview was with two senior leaders and it was a train wreck. It was all a sham. I was insulted and my questions were never answered. I was told they would like me to run a store for at least two years then apply for a regional position if one then becomes available. I would have to relocate to wherever this opportunity happened to be but no guarantee I would ever get above the store level. Not once in any of the previous conversations was any of this mentioned. Why would I take a huge step back in my career? How were the other leaders so passionate and engaging when their bosses were so comfortable lying to me and presenting such terrible people skills? Where was the disconnect? I rejected their offer and only if you are willing to move to wherever a job may appear after jumping through hoops and degrading yourself would I recommend this ridiculous charade. I will never stop at one of their locations in the future, but I’m not their target customer so I’m sure they don’t care.

Interview
Painfull. Phone interview, in person interview, then 2 or 3 more in person interviews. Each person I met with was sure they were the best manager in the world and that the world revolved around them.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Pilot Flying J (Knoxville, TN) in Jan 2017
Interview
The process is extremely slow. The first 1 or 2 interviews will be over the phone. After that you will get a brief meeting with the Division VP. The whole process can take up to 30 days
