      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Jan 25, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Postscript in Jan 2021

      Interview

I applied online, received an e-mail from a recruiter and sent a link to register for their one-way video initial interview screen. The biggest benefit to this process was it was very quick: 4 total questions, a total of 5 minutes. The welcome introduction video describes their may be a time-limit to review prior to recording which can cause some angst; after each question was displayed, their actually wasn't a prep time limit. The questions were straightforward with a 1-2 minute time limit. As other reviews stated, the challenge here is their first round isn't an interview, or two way conversation with anyone on the team. Essentially if your resume passes, the next screen review is based off short video recordings so theres no opportunity to ask questions, or go in-depth to your background. I followed-up with the recruiter, whom said they reviewed my videos but elected to go with other candidates whom have a deeper experience in digital marketing; the statement here is ironic because I can also vouch for the review on 1/15 - every website I went on after viewing Postscript's website displayed a Postscript advertisement for me; I'm also not a potential customer so clearly their algorithms have room for improvement (maybe the new hire will also work in Product?). I'm also unsure how they determined my experience in digital marketing since I never actually got to speak with anyone. One other observation; their About Us page that discusses diversity looks to be misleading based off their company photo (mostly white individuals in their 20's and 30's). Luckily not a lot of time spent here outside of a few emails and 5 minutes of recording myself in a very impersonal experience.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and provide your feedback. We are disappointed that you were not happy with your experience. We hear you on the one way video interview and are having active conversations with our team to address this. To be transparent about the process you encountered: we use your resume, cover letter (if provided), and video interview to capture what we can about your background and from there, we must make tough decisions as our candidate pool is high volume and highly competitive. If a candidate moves forward from the one way video interview, the rest of the process involves communicating directly with our team including, at a later stage, the opportunity to connect with our Founders. As for diversity, our People team is hard at work to foster an inclusive workplace for all people. Postscript is an ever-evolving place of equal employment for talented individuals. For example, I am a congenital amputee and mother of 3 homeschooled children - I feel embraced and supported here, both professionally and personally. We have many people who fit the description you shared, and many more who do not. We need to update our photos. :) Again, thank you for sharing your feedback. We will take it forward in our team discussions about how we can make our processes as positive as possible. -Cailee

      Interview

Had a nice chat with a recruiter. Ultimately they wanted to go with someone with more ecommerce experience, which I understand. It seemed that I had all of the skills they were looking for including retail experience.

      Average interview

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Postscript

      Interview

Five rounds of interviews: recruiter >VP > hiring manager. Two part final round interview: #1: presentation with a second manager and VP #2: (to see if I wad a fit for culture and diversity) with a third manager and someone from compliance (?). Stressed during the entire process they were looking for a particular skill set their team was lacking and my (very extensive) experience set me above other candidates. Said ecomm experience wasn’t necessary particularly because I’ve worked 10+ yrs in martech and fintech. Continually asked if there were any hesitations with possibly hiring me and was always told no. The follow up email was incredibly condescending and contradicted pretty much everything that was conveyed to me throughout the month long interview process.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Postscript (Boston, MA) in Jul 2021

      Interview

I interviewed with an in-house recruiter and then a team manager, both remotely. The first interview was more culture fit screening, and the second was more tactical questioning based on my experience, challenges I’ve faced, etc. They were both over Zoom and interviewees dressed pretty casual.
