The Austin sales leader had reached out to me in LinkedIn end of 2015, and I replied back in January showing interested in a conversation. After 2-3 weeks I got a reply with no call to action. I then responded (twice) with my contact info. 2 weeks after that I got a one-liner saying, "hey, this recruiter CC'd will reach out to you to set up a call." After another week, I got another one-liner asking me to pick a time slot for a 30-min screen via TimeTrade.
The gist of the call was about how unique Procore was for having 10+ full-time recruiters, and it was made clear more than once that she was back-to-back all day. I asked a few unique questions and got thoughtful responses, but the velocity of her recruiting workload and how over-worked she was stood out after about 3 minutes (should be noted as you're hiring sales professionals).
I decided not to send a follow up email asking for a next step, as I would've declined based on the experience. As expected, I got (again) a one-liner saying (and I'm paraphrasing here), "Just to give you a quick update, we won't be moving forward. Thanks!"
