I applied for an EA role to support a senior executive on the Tech team and within a week, I received an email from one of the senior tech recruiters at RBC for a phone screening. After the phone screening, a few days have gone by and I received a generic email saying that I "did not qualify to go to the next stage of interviews with the executive". Low and behold, a senior recruiter calls me a few days afterwards and explained that the email was sent in error. After a ton of confusion, I was asked to have a final interview with the executive herself and decided to proceed with the meeting to understand the role a bit better (this was already one month after I've applied for the role). The interview went well and it was well over 60 minutes. As a courtesy, I sent a "Thank you" email to the senior tech recruiters for making the arrangements and a week later, I received another generic email saying they've chosen a more qualified candidate for the role. I decided not to follow up and am frustrated with how the recruiters handled my application. I find it extremely rude that I took a month's effort and time with phone screenings and interviews only in return to receive a generic email that I did not get an offer and also received no feedback on why I was NOT the qualified candidate. DO BETTER. What a waste of time.
