It was a quick turn-around from application to interview. The interview itself was done via a ~1 hour Zoom phone call. There were two interviewers. After some short introductions, one of the interviewers asked some questions regarding my professional experience in Systems Engineering and level of familiarity with particular Systems Engineering tools. I was honest and let them know that I had not worked as a Systems Engineer but had gotten a Master's degree in the subject and taken on a number of projects during my education that prepared me for this role. The first interviewer did not seem impressed and opened the floor for questions after only 15 minutes or so. I asked a couple of intelligent questions at which point the second interviewer began actually asking me questions about my projects and about how my experience in my current role related to the role I was interviewing for. The interview improved drastically from this point and continued until the end of the hour.
