      Flight Attendant Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Republic Airways in May 2016

      Interview

Applied online May 16. Received an invitation for video interview a little over a week later on the 25th & submitted that on May 29th. There were 7 questions and all of them were found in this forum which I studied first to prepare. June 3rd I received an email saying: You have successfully completed the interview portion of the Republic Airways Flight Attendant hiring process and we are interested in moving forward in the process! There was a request for background check and the call came the next day to confirm and say training begins the 29th. They included email attachments with forms to have filled out and a good amount of work to memorize for tests on the first day of training. I'm really glad there wasn't a second f2f or group event to have to also go to. I'm so extremely excited!!! I'll put down my answers to the questions just to give some ideas if anyone needs examples since somehow I got hired using them so it's def long! Thank you for the input from everyone else that helped me to prepare. Good Luck To Those That Are Starting Out On This Journey!

      Interview questions [4]

      Question 1

Name a stressful situation and how did you overcome it? I related my first week at a new job for concierge service and we had 4 of us all talking with guests around the desk but, all the materials we gave out were in one spot in the middle & we had to climb over each other with great confusion trying to grab them, causing us to lose eye contact & connection with our guest. I asked the manager how she'd feel about making 4 stations of materials to eliminate trampling over each other. 2 Days later she asked if I wanted to go to the office supply with her to pick out the supplies.

      Question 2

Why Republic? I always strive to produce excellence in everything I do as a life pattern so imagine how excited I was to read on your site of your commitment to BEST Guiding Principles, and the culture? A strong view of diversity, having a mission and vision. I will always produce excellence wherever I am but, I thrive most with a company that has a vision with specified, obtainable goals and the team can get together behind them, inspired as a team to reach them. The culture & principles are completely in sync with all that I am & believe in. They are my heart written on paper.

      Question 3

What do you see as the biggest challenge to being a flight attendant and how would you overcome it? I feel that knowing all the exact responses for all types of emergencies or crisis would be the biggest challenge. Not from the perspective of remaining calm and providing strong leadership at that moment, but knowing each process in detail so there's no need to waste time having to think or look them up, only responding. To overcome that challenge I believe it will be a matter of studying each process over and over and over and over and over again until it's a part of me & instantly rises to the surface when the emergencies occur.

      Question 4

What makes you qualified for this position? I take joy in making sure that people have an amazing experience far beyond what they expected and knowing that I'm a part of that. Even when people come in mean or grouchy, I take it as a personal challenge to win them over and get them to smile. We have no idea what happened on the way to us or how much effort it took. Maybe the car broke down for several hours, or the kids screamed the whole way or parents were fighting, and then they realize they forgot important things at home, etc. I go out of my way to help them relax and put those things aside knowing they can deal with necessary things when they get home. How can I help you to enjoy now & the reasons you've come here!

      Interview

Watched a video explaining the role and company values. Then, there was an opportunity to practice recording. Make sure you look into the camera, and not at yourself! Most of the questions you are only allowed to record once. The question is presented, and you are giving 1-2 minutes to prepare your response.

Virtual recorded responses. About six questions, the question appeared on the screen, there's a countdown, then you must record your response. Some questions we're a timed for one minute with one minute to respond. Some allowed more time to respond.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Republic Airways in May 2025

      Interview

One-way video interview—2 minutes prep time for each question, 2 minutes allowed for each response, no retakes. There was an 11-minute intro video that discussed the company's background, mission, culture statement, scheduling, and pay expectations. This was followed by a 2.5-minute tutorial on how to record and submit responses. There was also an opportunity to do a practice recording before beginning, so that was helpful. It was very awkward to talk directly to the camera without a person there, so be prepared for that, but it was good practice and a learning experience if nothing else. I recommend recording yourself responding to interview questions before sitting down to do the interview.
