I was contacted 2 weeks after applying. 1 phone call with the recruiter on my background and overall view of Riot Games and LoL. 2 video calls with my potential immediate manager and the head of the community team respectfully. I was constantly kept in the loop regarding the timeline of my application. It might seem like a lot to get to the on-site but as a foreign applicant, I appreciate the time to assess my candidacy.
Lastly, I was invited to the on-site at Riot Games Headquarters, Los Angeles.
You are brought to a conference room that you'll be living in for the day. From 10-6pm I had back to back meetings (1 hour each) with different teams to assess my values, thought process and qualifications. Take as many bathroom breaks to clear your head but I warn you that the music in those bathrooms are super intense. I was brought to NOMS for lunch that was an interview in itself. A guided tour is provided at the very end. It was a blast :)
I was informed a week later that I wasn't offered the position.
I received an email with detailed feedback that I can use to improve my candidacy (a more senior level experience). Overall the experience was amazing and I respect their decision of not moving forward with my application. It was a great opportunity and every person I met were organically invested in my journey and brought me great insight.
