I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ross Stores (Mount Laurel, NJ) in Apr 2012
Interview
The job application was submitted online, and the interview process was done at the store location that I applied for (Mt. Laurel, NJ). The interview itself which was a 1 on 1 interview, only took about 15~20 minutes.

Question 1
How would you deal with a customer that is arguing about the price of an item at checkout?
Very lowkey. They asked basic interview questions. They just wanted to know availability for work and if you’re available during their most busy hours. Nothing super professional, but they want to make sure you’re going to actually come into work.
it was very pleasant and they will almost always hire you if you are a tolerable person who can work hard and well with others. It would be strange to not hear back from them within a week due to how much demand they usually have for employees.
When arriving, they do accommodate you to sit in the break room while waiting on an interview, which is great because you’re not standing around the store looking crazy. When you get in the back and we’ll meet with the Store Manager or an assistant manager short it seems rushed like they genuinely didn’t have time set aside for interviews. They were trying to move along candidates.
