I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ross Stores in Mar 2012
Interview
Filled out an online application and was called about a week later and scheduled an in store interview. First met with the assistant manager, who is the hiring manager. She asked questions about my past jobs and my duties there and why I wanted to work for them now. She then went on to explain how this particular store was not one of the best in the company and asked how I could help improve it. I was then rescheduled for another interview with the store manager. On the day of the interview the manager was not in the store and had actually forgotten about me, so she ended up being 20 minutes late for the interview. Once it began she asked me the same questions as the assistant manager. They told me they would do a background check and give me a call, I ended up having to call them and then they scheduled my on boarding where I filled out paperwork, and got my first weeks schedule. There was no drug test at all, some of my coworkers were stoners,
Fast and easy! They mainly asked about my previous work experiences and my availability. They also asked what great customer service is like to you and why I would be a good fit to the company.
I was interviewed over the phone and than asked to come in person. So I could meet the team and talk to them. It wasn't too hard but it was kind of a waste as I didn't get a call back.
