I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ross Stores (Pasadena, CA) in May 2013
Interview
They called me to come in for an interview a week after I applied. It lasted about 15 minutes and was asked standard retail questions. Only one Assistant supervisor interviews you. It's a pretty basic interview and not that nerve racking. I dressed pretty casual. They aren't looking for the perfect person, they honestly just want to know that you can learn and are mentally sound enough to work there. They really didn't ask that many questions. That's pretty much it. Just pass that one interview and you're good. They told me on the spot that they wanted to hire me, so at least they don't make you wait for an answer.

Interview
Applied online and interview was in person. It consist of behavioral questions such as “tell me about a time..” I was interviewed by two separate people. I believe one was the manager
The interview process was very simple and short. I was asked for my experience and availability during the interview. If you have cashier or retail experience, they are likely to hire you.
one interview on site, casual, very basic interview questions, description of the job and its difficulty, told about being temporary or part time with room for advancement, hired a few days later
