The interview process began with a phone interview to review my background and tell me a little more about the company. Then they flew me down to Houston for a daylong interview process. The day began with a 30 minute presentation of my choice about any technical topic. Approximately 10 managers attended the presentation and we had a good 45 minute question and answer session after the presentation. The rest of the day consisted of one on one interviews with the managers that had attended the presentation.
This interview was for employment at a SLB R&D center which is very different from the Field positions. The culture in the R&D centers is very laid back, casual dress code. Remember this is a company staffed top to bottom with engineers, they value technical competence above all else. The work culture is laid back as well, depending on the manager you get almost complete freedom to come and go as you please. Getting the job done well is the only priority.
