I applied online via SSM.com for this position along with several others they were offering. I doubted that I'd hear anything due to my age, but within the next 2 weeks I did receive an offer for the position -- "that if I was still interested, they'd like to schedule a phone interview with me." I was so excited I could hardly sit still -- to think someone would be interested in me....a grandma, still full of life and energy, who'd been struggling to survive for the past 8 years. Oh, so excited!!!...and nervous. I passed my phone interview and with the final question of, "Do you have any additional questions?" I had to respond, "When can I start??" The response of, "I'd like to offer you an in person interview, " nearly made me cry! Immediately I started compiling my degrees, awards, letters of recommendation and touched up my resume to a current status. The Day came for my in person interview, and i selected an appropriate outfit by which I could put my best business foot forward to the eye, and arrived for my appointment. I spoke with another applicant in the lobby who was praying much as i, that we'd be accepted. I was greeted by a lovely staff member and taken in for my initial interview with two very friendly ladies. Their general demeanor put me at ease and once my butterflies landed, respond to their questions of qualifications and previous work history with confidence in my abilities and my self. Thinking I'd completed the process, I was surprised by being immediately interviewed by an additional two staff members. My butterflies started once again.... but everyone was so wonderful that I met (right down to the janitorial staff) that I knew I wanted to be a part of their team. Two days later I received word that I'd been accepted and once compensations was done reviewing my background they'd be making me an employment offer. I believe that was the longest weekend I've endured in years, but that offer came through the following Tuesday, and YES I accepted immediately. I feel truly blessed to join the team, and pray that God continues to beam through all my actions to bless my coworkers and our clients.
