When you apply, you'll get a confirmation. Typically, employment is pretty competitive, so you may not hear anything for weeks r even months. Not every hospital has a contract with Scribe America...
When contacted, you'll receive an email from either the Junior Leader or Chief Scribe from the hospital location you applied to. If they decide to keep you, you'll begin training.
Every hospital location is different, but you'll most like have 1-2 weeks of classroom training. You'll be given a fairly large book of medical things a scribe should know, and you're expected to least at least 80%. There is a test! You'll be given 2 opportunities to pass. If a 3rd time is needed, you will be excused.
After passing the classroom portion, you will begin floor training. This will allow you be become familiar with the EMR system and essentially apply what you've learned in the classroom. Floor training is generally 3 days-1 week. After that you're on your own! There's a 90 day evaluation period, after which it will be decided whether you stay or go.
