Interview
I had a preliminary chat with their Talent Acquisition Manager, Peyman, who reached out to me on LinkedIn. It was very casual and I learned a lot about office goings-on and their company culture as well as giving a basic overview of how my experience set me up for the role. This call gave me a very positive impression of Sparkfund's culture. I am particularly moved by their authentic commitment to improving diversity and inclusion, right down to sharing salary up front to improve pay equity. I was asked to submit samples of my work that relate to the role in advance of the next interview.
The second phone interview was with the SVP of Marketing - we discussed the role and I shared my experience.
The role wasn't the right fit, but my experience was very positive and I would certainly apply for other roles in the future based on what I learned about the company.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Sparkfund in Jan 2019
Interview
Initial Phone Screen with HR, Phone Call with direct Manager, In Person Interview, Work Assessment.
The timeline for a next step kept getting pushed and then there was no response to the last step (not even a 'we went with someone else'). It seemed like they were making up the process as they went along and their lack of communication was frustrating.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sparkfund (Washington, DC) in Jun 2018
Interview
The interview process was lengthy but almost enjoyable for the simple fact that as an interviewee you have the chance to get to know the people you will be working with. I was able to really get a feel for the space.
