The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Sunrise Senior Living (Manassas, VA) in May 2019
Interview
First a brief phone interview with a recruiter which included setting up an interview with the executive director of the property.
The in-person interview took place at the facility and included the executive director and previous maintenance coordinator.
The previous maintenance coordinator took me on a tour of the building to show me what I would be dealing with and getting into.
I then interviewed with the rest of the coordinators at the facility and closed with just the executive director.
The interview lasted around two hours and at the end, I was given a verbal offer from the executive director.
After that, I never heard back from anybody at Sunrise regarding that offer despite numerous attempts to contact them. My phone calls and emails were actively avoided and never returned in over a month. This includes both the executive director of the property and the recruiter who initially contacted me about the position. The recruiter did reply to one email with one line saying she would check on it and despite subsequent emails asking for news of anything (even to let me know if I was still a candidate) I still have not heard back from her.
It was all pretty unprofessionally handled, especially after being given a verbal offer then mysteriously going completely silent.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is the process of replacing a defective gas valve on a range?
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Sunrise Senior Living (Westfield, NJ) in Jun 2009
Interview
Met with the regional maintenance coordinator. No typical interview questions (i.e. - tell me how you work in a team, if you were faced with a challenge...., etc.). He had written questions on a piece of a paper to test your knowledge of maintenance activities. He asked about boilers, AC Units, Electrical, plumbing, etc. Make sure you study up how how to maintain and service these types of systems.
