The process will start with applying online and within a few weeks or months you will receive a phone call from a corporate recruiter scheduling a phone interview which will last about 30-45 minutes. If you seem fit for the role you will get a call back scheduling an in-person interview at your local Sysco house. This is when you will be required to start the process for a very thorough background check and drug screening from an approved doctors office. The in-person interview for me was about 6 weeks after the process started, three interviews with my potential boss, the VP of sales and the sales trainer, each lasting about an hour. Typical interview questions like: what is your biggest weakness, why do you think you will be successful at this role and what is your sales/ food-service background. The very same day I was informed I would be receiving an offer via my corporate recruiter. This is the phone call where you can negotiate a base (I would look at average base on this website and don't sell yourself short). I asked for 56k and received a counter offer not too far below that. The process took several months all together for me but I have heard of much quicker hires depending on the current need of sales personnel.
