I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tesco (Newcastle upon Tyne, England) in Jun 2016
Interview
I applied online and a week or so later got a phone call asking to come in for a group interview a few days later. The interview was really easy, laid back and I really enjoyed the experience. I came in for my interview quite early and we were taken through to the canteen where we filled out health and safety and availability forms. There was about 10 of us so when the manager took us into the office she split us up into two groups of 5, the first group (I was in) were taken to the shop floor and got buddied up with people on the tills and we got to observe and ask questions, the staff member I was buddied up with was easy going and we got along well, after about half an hour or so we swapped with the other group and we got asked two questions at the interview, each taking turns to answer - there were 3 assessors each assessing two of the interviewees, after that we got told we'd receive a phone call if we got it and 3 days later I got a call offering shift patterns! All in all great experience!

Friendly, open conversation.

Didn’t have to wait to hear back, was employed on the spot after the interview & set up first shift dates - very efficient.
