I applied online. I interviewed at Tesco in Sep 2013
Interview
It was an interactive group interview of around roughly 8 of us. The interview started off with us introducing ourselves and briefly mentioning a random fact about us as an icebreaker. From what I could remember, at a later stage in the interview, we were asked to perform a group task e.g. dividing us into two teams to construct a freestanding tower using only paper, tape and penculs, and this was to get us to demonstrate team working skills.
As this was a low level job (as only a customer assistant as opposed to a manager's position), the interview process was rather relaxed and relatively informal.

Question 1
Describe one example of whenyou have given good customer service.
Interview was around 2.5 hours in total. Started with a group interview then 20 minutes on the shop floor shadowing a checkout colleague then finally a 1 to 1 interview with a manager.
Nice environment. Kind people. Asked the right questions and I felt I could ask any questions i had. Overall I enjoyed the experience and would recommend to other people to do an interview with them.
Very easy, just asked a few questions about my experience and my availability on time etc. what days i can work and my flexability on the dates i can do
