I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Canoga Park, CA) in Aug 2015
Interview
There was one phone screen interview where they asked basic conceptual questions on C# and SQL server. There was also an in-person interview where where I did a presentation (yes, a presentation!) on specific technical challenges that I overcame in my work. The in-person interview also included small 15 minute interviews with 4 engineers where 1 asked a couple of problem-solving questions and others asked technical conceptual questions with some behavioral questions.
Thank you for your review. We hope you found the interview process to be thorough and informative about the role, our culture and organization. Best of luck in your job search.
Other Software Engineer Interview Reviews for Thermo Fisher Scientific
Went for the interview through campus placement. Interview was offline and conducted at their office. The first round consisted of questions on coding, dbms and projects mentioned in resume. Interviewers were helpful.
Interview was straightforward and pleasant as far as software interviews go. Group interview with the team who then reviews and comes to a collective decision on whether to hire you.
1 Behavioral with the recruiter
1 Behavioral with the manager
1 Panel - Fairly straightforward, vocabulary of languages, what would you do in this scenario, systems design questions, nothing really too difficult
