I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TikTok in Mar 2021
Interview
The interview process is fairly quick. HR Phone Screen, initial interview with someone doing the job, and then 2 manager level interviews. I turned down the offer for a variety of reasons. One reason is they can’t find the talent in all their locations and ask you to relocate while providing no assistance or clear timeline. Two it would have been a pay cut for me. I clearly stated this while referencing what I knew from 2 recently hired employees and Glassdoor. They wouldn’t increase my base pay or provide more RSUs. The hired employees had different packages. They also did the standard HR - Glassdoor is wrong. No one has a reason to lie here. This is all while HR said the package was negotiable and then pretended they didn’t afterward. Instead they reiterated the gym reimbursement and lunch stipend which would dissolve once in the office.
Lastly and most important to me is that they have no org chart which is only a way to hide their lack of diversity especially at the manager and above level. I will not allow myself to be blocked from promotions especially due to bias and racism. I asked for a percentage of people of color managers which they would not provide per their policy. I’ve already had an extremely negative mental and emotional situation with another company. I have no interest in doing that again especially when the company was founded in China. If anything they could use that in their diversity pitch. The numbers would most likely skew higher due to global #s. There were way too many red flags for me which my current job doesn’t have.
Hr called me, asked me a few questions, intro, why you leave your current company, are you actively looking for new opportunities etc. The interview progress is smooth, and pass me to hiring manager round very smoothly.
5 stages, very long process but they do it quickly if they want you. good compensation, very good benifits. the interviews are also not horrid, they ask reasonable questions. oh my god why does it need to be so long
The interview process for the Account Manager role at TikTok was straightforward and professional. It began with an initial recruiter screen, followed by a more technical round focused on account management. The team provided clear insights into their structure and expectations, making the entire experience feel organized and transparent from start to finish.
