I applied through a recruiter. The process took 7 months. I interviewed at TikTok (Dubai) in Sep 2020
Interview
I started interviewing with TikTok for a role that I was put forward for by a recruiter in September. I had in total 5 interviews, where the last one included two short case study presentations. While I genuinely enjoyed the interviews themselves (around 30 mins each) the whole process seemed a bit unorganized and throughout my 5 interviews I was put forward for 3 different roles. I received nothing but positive feedback but after my last interview I was told I wasn't 100% right for the role, and that they would keep me in consideration for future roles.
Fast forward 6 months, they reached out again and asked if I was still interested, which I was at the time. I went through another 4 rounds (and by this time I had met with pretty much all senior leaders of the organization) and again nothing but positive feedback. I then receive an automated email saying I was not successful, with no additional feedback except "they did not know where to place me" which seems strange after a total of 9 interviews.
So overall a positive experience in terms of the actual interviews but quite disappointing that after that many interview rounds they would just send an automated email and no personal feedback..
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you sell the client TikTok when they tell you they are keen on spending more budgets on FB and Instagram?
What are the tools that you would use to know the priority of the client in terms of time management?
How would you know a campaign that went live contributed to your in-store sales?
Assuming talking to P&G, large YouTube customer, want to position TikTok within their media mix, especially video, what value proposition and how would you build their business?
Hr called me, asked me a few questions, intro, why you leave your current company, are you actively looking for new opportunities etc. The interview progress is smooth, and pass me to hiring manager round very smoothly.
5 stages, very long process but they do it quickly if they want you. good compensation, very good benifits. the interviews are also not horrid, they ask reasonable questions. oh my god why does it need to be so long
The interview process for the Account Manager role at TikTok was straightforward and professional. It began with an initial recruiter screen, followed by a more technical round focused on account management. The team provided clear insights into their structure and expectations, making the entire experience feel organized and transparent from start to finish.
