I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Toast Inc (Boston, MA) in Feb 2020
Interview
To be honest, my interview with Toast was one of the most disappointing and lazily conducted interviews I've ever had. The internal recruiter seemed totally disinterested in being on the call and was clearly reading canned questions in order, with no conversation about the answers or understanding of the context of my career. I have been in TA for 7 years, yet every question was about my last job (a short contract stint helping a buddies firm out). I got no background on the TA org at Toast or anything else relevant and was just asked "if I had any questions" with 10 mins left on the call after we had fully explored my metrics from the last few months, ignoring the half decade of experience before then

Question 1
1,000 and 1 questions about current job. What are you not looking for in your next opportunity
Woof- reading this was tough. We love getting to know candidates outside of their resumes and job titles, so I’m not sure what happened here. I will share this feedback with the team, as your experience is not reflective of our approach to interviewing at Toast. - Mike Brown, VP Talent & Insights
