Online application process. A week later the nursing staff coordinator phoned me and we scheduled an interview. The interview was immediately followed by a few hours of me "shadowing" a Trilogy nurse working on the floor that afternoon. This is see if a nurse applicant feels like a good fit and allows the nurse applicant to ask questions and observe a "real" nurse on the job rather than just an office-job employee trying to answer those questions. After the shadow, mgmt. will ask the nurse you shadowed what his/her thoughts are about you so far. Then a 2nd interview was arranged with the Executive Director and DON or ADON. Trilogy calls a DON a "Director of Health Services" or DHS. So that's the 2nd interview. When you pass those two interviews, you get a PPD, a tox screen and a physical at an Urgent Med type of clinic that's contracted by and paid by Trilogy. The tox screen looks for the usual culprits plus Methadone, tricyclic antidepressants, Antibuse, Buprenorphine, Ecstasy and PCP, it's 15 substances in all. Most places only check for 6-7 substances. They run the usual criminal background check and credit check of course. A job offer was made, I accepted, and the first part of orientation, called "on boarding", was scheduled for the following week. The entire process from filling out the online app to beginning orientation was about 15 days.
