I found out about Turo through an email from a recruiter. I was just starting to look for a new position and it looked like a cool company to work for.
Interview process was pretty typical and was composed of a recruiter phone screen, a technical phone screen, and an onsite interview. I was interviewing with 2 tech giants at the same time and the questions from Turo were "easier" and more focused (no dynamic programming questions, advanced algorithms, or computability questions). I was asked general problems solving questions, work experience questions, and focused questions about my knowledge of the platform that I would be working on.
I wound up cutting my interview process short with one of the big tech companies to move forward with Turo. The Turo offer was very competitive with the offer I received from the other company though. The compensation isn't what influenced my decision the most, what really impressed me about the interview process with Turo was how welcome I felt during the onsite. The office has a lot of young energy and a strong sense of community. The employees want to do more than just get their tickets done which wasn't something that I felt during my other interviews. That really sealed the deal for me.
