      Process Engineer Interview

      Sep 2, 2017
      Anonymous employee
      San Antonio, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at USAA (San Antonio, TX) in Aug 2017

      Interview

The process started with a phone call from a recruiter to determine if the position was within the parameters of what I was looking for. The next step was a phone interview to determine if I was a viable candidate. Questions were straight forward and were behavioral in nature. The final round of interviews was an on site and there more behavioral questions. The interview was a panel type and was very relaxed. It was a great interview experience.

      Question 1

Explain how you convinced your boss, who did not believe your outcome, that it would benefit the organization in the long run?

      Anonymous employee
      San Antonio, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at USAA (San Antonio, TX) in May 2017

      Interview

just so you know, it is very difficult to get an interview with USAA. If you do get the opportunity to interview, do not squander this shot. I applied to multiple jobs that I had the perfect qualifications for and received so many rejection notices, even after I had this job I still received rejection notices. Stay positive. People get hired here every day. You can increase your chance of getting an interview by tailoring your resume to the job posting (use an app like jobscan). A few tweeks to your resume can get it moved up to the top of the stack. Shoot for 80%. Also, in the application process, there are a few questions, such as: do you have 5 years experience. If you answer any of these 'no' you will not get the interview. just remember, without the interview you cannot get the job. My interview was with the hiring manager and the lead engineer.

      Process Engineer Interview

      Aug 30, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      San Antonio, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at USAA (San Antonio, TX) in Aug 2016

      Interview

Initial interview was an informal, three-person panel via telephone. In the first interview it is PARAMOUNT to show you know the company's mission and how you align with it (having a close relative in the military helps). Second interview was face-to-face with the same three people, more technical questions related to tools and resources used in past experiences. I brought a redacted example of a previous DMAIC project to reference for these types of questions. Overall was a great experience, which lasted about 3 weeks. I highly recommend brushing up on the 'vision and mission' section of the careers website. An internal referral helps immensely!

      Interview questions [6]

      Question 1

      Answer question

      Question 3

Tell us why you want to work for USAA since I t is a different industry (for me, 6 years of health care moving to financial)?
      Answer question

      Question 4

Have you ever completed a project only to come back 3 months later and discover the improvement was not sustained? What, if anything, did you do to 'sustain the gain'?
      1 Answer

      Question 5

What has been your role related to process improvement?
      1 Answer

      Question 6
