Applied online, was contacted by a recruiter less than 24 hours later to schedule a phone screen (30 minutes). That went well and was contacted 5 days later to schedule a phone interview with one of the hiring managers. The recruiter was very pleasant and went out of her way to wish me well and also gave me some tips for the call via email. Didn't hear back. Followed up with my recruiter and they were quick to respond. Next, I was scheduled for an in-person panel interview. Before that, however, I was given a small assignment that included two exercises. One was a mock email, the other asking an operations-related question. During the panel interview (30 minutes 1:1 with each manager) one of the hiring managers went over my answers. They seemed impressed. Heard back from the recruiter a week later, scheduled a time to talk over the phone, and received an offer! Overall, it seems like they're really looking for people who are hard workers, like a challenge, young, and are passionate about the work being done at Uber. Do your research, mention some of their new app features, ask good questions and be confident.
