Interview

I was interviewed for the position of speech scientist at Uniphore Software Systems. The first round was a face to face interview with the vice president and head of ML/AI. This round was fixed by the HR based on my availability. This half an hour interview seem to be more of a background check. Following this interview, the second interview was scheduled for the next day which was conducted by the principal scientist of the speech group. This was a technical interview which was not very difficult for me. Overall the process was smooth and reassuring.

The interview process took 6 weeks from initiation to receiving the offer. First informal round : This was with the RnD head who also referred me into Uniphore. First formal round : With VP of Product Management. Second formal round : With VP of engineering. Third formal round : Face to face discussion with VP of products. Fourth round : This was a discussion with HR for cultural fitment, compensation expectations etc. In all it was a very smooth process. All the interviews were completed within a couple of weeks from the start of the process. It was the compensation negotiation etc where maximum time was spent

Was tested on pricing strategy, deployment models, market research, product design strategy etc Second formal round : With VP of engineering. Was again a good discussion on engineering touch points like requirements definition process, validation of roadmap with customers etc Third formal round : Face to face discussion with VP of products. This time the discussion was more about people management skills, team structure definition etc. This time it was more about introducing me to the Uniphore vision and strategy and getting me comfortable with it. Fourth round : This was a discussion with HR for cultural fitment, compensation expectations etc.

The interview process was good. But the HR's are the worst. They actually do not know anything about interview process I guess. After taking multiple rounds of interviews, even after informing me on the feedback as good, they just delayed the final process. And there was no information. Then I had to check with them on the same then they said we are not going ahead but did not give me any detailed feedback. Worst hr.
