I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at VIPKid (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2017
Interview
Make sure you read through and practice the teaching slides they send you BEFORE the interview itself. If you do that, It won't be too bad. Use the formula: "I do" , "we do" , "you do" with the interviewer who is playing the role of student. They like to use this 'mimicking' method.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Be ready to describe the previous teaching experience (if any) you submitted when applying
Got hired as a British speaking then cancelled as not from America which I disclosed at the first interview which I think was silly and unprofessional at the time it was during covid when this happpened.
Very lenghthy interview process, but the interviewers were nice and helpful. There were several steps to the process and it was pretty involved. I had to prepare a lesson beforehand
It was easy an straightforward. 1 interview and 2 mock classes to pass. They offer a contract for a year with option to renew after 1st contract is over. Overall the process last for about 2 weeks from the time you apply unless you are waitlisted.
