I thought it went very well. Everyone was very kind, and I heard many words about how things were "awesome," breezed through the system design exercise (interviewer's words) and had meaningful tech conversations about challenges organizations like theirs face.
They seemed like a company with a very good culture. I have been a part of organizations with a similar culture before, and wished to be a part of it again, for I am aware of how my current company is lacking. I was then rejected for what I was told was culture fit, and this was very, very sad.
I am therefore ranking the culture fit interview as Very Difficult. In that regard it may be the most difficult I have experienced.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at VTS (Toronto, ON) in Sep 2023
Interview
Started with a easy phone interview. Then a detailed systems design question then the bowling game coding challenge as a pair programming interview. The systems design round was typical, make sure to explain all decisions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Ten Pin Bowling coding Challenge,. Make sure to be on top of arrays and how they work
The worst recruiting team I have ever seen in the job hunting. Everyone is unresponsive, irresponsible and rude.
HR screening, HM interview - background + a pair coding question, then on-site interviews (pair coding, behavioral, system design)?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at VTS (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2022
Interview
Extremely rude interviewers with a very strong French accent who could not understand English. I explained everything about 5 times and they started arguing because I gave them perfect solution in the first attempt.
