As many here have described, Verily’s interview process is disorganized, unprofessional, and discriminatory. At the end of my interview with the hiring manager, I was told that I would be moving forward in the interview process and would have my next round(s) the following week. However, on Thursday of the following week, I was finally contacted by the recruiter and told that “[Verily’s] concern is that [current company] is a partner of [Verily] and we have gotten ourselves in a spot of trouble before with interviewing candidates from [current company]… [We] are working with [head of AM] to see what we can do… I will keep you updated on the process.” I was then completely ghosted. Never mind that this is outside the scope of any noncompete agreements utilized by my current employer and regardless of the fact that there is no clear policy on partner companies at Verily. This was clearly an anticompetitive and discriminatory decision by their hiring team, a decision that they have failed to apply consistently to candidates from their partner companies. I highly recommend staying far away from Verily and everyone involved.
