I believe Verily (Alphabet's Org) is doing great and valuable work for the life science industry. But the WORSE recruiter experience ever. Disrespected over the phone by a recruiter who clearly doesn't have any experience. I gave a short and concise work experience and current job responsibilities, he immediately said: "I still don't understand what you do." I gave the same answers to other prominent tech companies in the SF Bay Area, and I always made it to the next round to the hiring manager. To test his knowledge, I gave him the greater technical detail about my background, and he said: "I still don't understand what you do." I replied, "which technical part?" Then he became silent. By the tone of his voice, this recruiter clearly has an ego problem.
Alphabet/Google is known for a hard but a fair hiring process. I was very disappointed.
Look at May 8, 2019 interview review. Sounded like the same recruiter.
