Interview
Phone screen with recruiter, 30 min interview with Sales Manager, then was invited into their office for four interviews with five people ranging from Managers to Directors, to their VP. The original agenda they presented me was for four of the five interviewers to be in person, with their VP in California. They clearly didn’t coordinate well, because I ended up interviewing with 4 people virtually via Zoom in their office, with the only in person conversation being with an AE who seemed confused why he was there.
Given the amount of prep put into researching everyone’s background prior, I found it relatively unfair they changed nearly everyone on the agenda with zero notice. Also what’s the point of having someone go into the office when you’ll be thrown into a conference room and interviewing via zoom the entire time?
Following my final interview (which the Manager was 30 minutes late for), there was nobody to debrief with or escort me out, so I just showed myself out. Ultimately the most bizarre, uncoordinated interview experience I’ve ever been through.
When I was informed they weren’t moving forward with an offer, the recruiter told me management felt I could have established more meaningful connections in the process. To this I ask why not hold your “in person” interviews, actually in person?

Very efficient and rapid interview process.
Step 1 - Screening call with HR
Step 2 - Call with Sales Manager
Step 3 - Call with Sales Operations to run through previous performance metrics
Step 4 (final) - In person interview at their office. Consists of a culture fit meeting and a mock discovery call with a prospect
Although I didn't get the offer, Jasmin from the HR team was very efficient and helpful throughout the whole process. She gave a very strong first impression of Verkada from the go.
The initial recruiter did a great job at selling the interview process and awesomeness of the people I would be speaking with. ...They all seemed to be busy with their minds up prior to the meeting. I understand it is a competitive position but it felt like an audition where the director already made up his mind
basic interview questions - had to drive down to do an interview with multiple people, it essentially took a day, just to not get the job. Felt like we could have done it remote.
