Verkada Solution Engineer interview questions

Just minutes before my final interview, one of the directors dropped out of our scheduled call and decided to have someone else speak to me. Although this interview ended up going extremely well, I was told later on that I would not be getting the position due to the director "not having the time to train me". We never even spoke a word to each other. This is just code word for lazy. My interview process was not the usual way Verkada hires, because my recruiter was aware of my situation right when I had applied a few months prior and still encouraged me to move along. After that final interview, communication had tanked, from very good to very spotty. I pretty much got ghosted and had to constantly email and text back for any updates to my application. It was very weird how my recruiter and the rest of the hiring team went about their decision, considering the fact that they knew right from the start what my experience level was. This entire interview process was unfair to me and in retrospect; a waste of my time.

The recruiter interview was alright and easy. The interview with the Lead Solution Engineer was technical and a joke. You can't teach personality but you can teach the skill. The Lead looks for really in-depth "book" knowledge, wanting you to explain the backend how the process works. I don't think it was really needed, I've worked with customers/vendors and they will explain their infrastructure/needs, as long as the network is working from point A to point B, you can really add any IoT devices to it.
