I had a 30 minute phone Interview with the Recruiter followed by a 30 minute technical interview with the hiring manager. The technical phone interview involved discussion on my current job followed by a OOPS design question on a popular software system
The In-Person interview last for about 4 hours split into 5 rounds. I met with the HR Recruiter, Hiring Manager, Director, and about five Senior Software Applications Engineers. There was a 1 hour technical Test conducted by 2 Engineers which involved designing a UML Class diagram for a commonly used software system on the white board. There was also a 40 minute demo of their in house grown proprietary software called Xpresso.
The interview process was very smooth and well thought out. All the people I met with were very nice and well spoken. They knew what they were looking for a new hire and asked appropriate questions. The technical test very interactive and the two software engineers that monitored my test were very helpful with their feedback.
The Interview mainly involved behavioral interview questions followed by Object oriented programming concepts and discussion of my past career experience.
If you are attending an interview at Workday, make sure you practice a lot of UML class diagrams with Cardinality and Multiplicity. Also learn about the Scrum software development methodology if you don't already use it.
