I was really disappointed with the entire interview process with Xero.
After doing a 5 day take home project, they rescheduled the second interview twice, which is already unprofessional.
Strictly because I had already invested my time, I chose to attend the 2nd interview when it did get rescheduled.
Huge mistake, it was a continuation of the same lack professionalism.
The interview team consisted of 2 engineers and one DBA, the sole person on the actual "team"supposedly one engineer had a senior title, but they were all extremely young, completely unprepared and asking me to do very simple, right out of college UML diagrams that suggest an entry level position.
They were so unprepared they just sat there for minutes, reviewing the project.
The person leading the interview said "We need to determine if your have the skills", which my decades in the industry does not suggest, but a UML diagram does, absurd.
I cut the interview short, assuming this is how the company operates and these would be the people I'd work with, I lost all interest.
If you're interviewing very senior engineers, don't waste their time, have very senior engineers conduct the interviews and come prepared!
