I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Xylem in Dec 2022
Interview
Absolutely pathetic. I have over 7 years of experience in technical writing but I was made to write an online assessment comprising elementary questions on English grammar. I attended hoping that would be just a way to filter out applicants. Turns out I was wrong. Though I got selected, the HR went on to schedule 4+ rounds after this round and even at the end of 5 rounds, they never gave clarity on when we would get to discuss the terms of the offer. I was extremely patient from the beginning but I lost it when both HR and hiring manager asked about my family details (they wanted to know everything including my relationship details), and were very keen on why I live in a particular part of the city. I mean you're hiring for a tech writer, not a goddamn CEO! 5+ rounds and no idea whether you like a candidate or not! You gotta be f*cking kidding me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Bookish questions on technical writing. Not willing to listen to my practical experience but only interested in the textbook definition. Poor diversity and inclusion evident in the organisation as questioner was not appreciative of my point of view but only focusing on the greatness of his f*cking organization.
