The process took around 1 week. A recruiter reached out to me as a good fit and my application was sent. In 2 days I had a call with an HR representative who asked me about my background. When I was asked about my accounting skills, I was transparent that I don't have any in-depth accounting knowledge. I was then invited to a face-to-face interview with the team leader for the role. When I arrived, I was instead interviewed by 2 other members of the company. This interview took more than an hour and I was asked very few questions, it felt more like a presentation of what the company is and what it's like working there.
I was then invited to the third step of the process - an in-house assessment. Before starting the assessment, I was asked if I prepared for it at home based on instructional videos sent via email ... but HR had forgotten to send me the materials. This pretty much sabotaged my application, as the assessment contained an accounting-related task for which preparation was crucial for someone that doesn't have in-depth accounting experience. Nevertheless, I finished the assessment to the best of my abilities and submitted it.
It has been 4 weeks since then and I haven't heard back from them while the position remains open on LinkedIn. I feel like my time was wasted travelling to their office and back twice when both the face-to-face interview and the assessment could have been done remotely. Also, the fact that I wasn't provided the preparation materials put me at a huge disadvantage.
