Two days after submitting my application I got an email from the recruiting team confirming they received it and that it is in line to be reviewed. Two days following that communication (on Friday) I got an email from the recruiter who scheduled a phone interview for the following Tuesday. The interview was short - right at the beginning the recruiter (who was calling from the UK) stated that she had loads of other candidates to interview, and I came first because I tweeted a question to Zendesk. She asked me how long I have been in Dublin, and having my CV in front of her stated that I got no prior experience supporting a product, and that the job was highly technical - which, given my keen interest for technology and all the qualities a customer service rep must have, was not a good fit. Having familiarized myself with the Zendesk approach to hiring customer support staff known as "Don’t sweat for tech: make customer service skills your hiring priority" (you can find it on their bog), I was surprized to hear that. The recruiter did not ask me what I knew about Zendesk, or any other questions related to customer support. She said that she'll pass my CV to the hiring manager, and if approved, I'll get a demo task by Friday. But on Thursday the status of my application on Jobvite turned from "In Process" to "Not Selected". No communication on that status change followed.
