I was referred to the recruiter by a connection on LinkedIn. During the initial meeting with the recruiter, they read out the job description to me in great detail and my own resume for the first 10+ minutes of our call and did not look at me once during this time. The recruiter then started advising me on other companies to apply to that we're hiring similar positions as if I was not in an interview for a job I really wanted and company I wanted to work for. During our 30 minute call, he did not ask me a single question about myself so I tried my best to lead the conversation. I did so much interview preparation for this position and even called with a current BDR to gain insights about the role and interview process. After all that preparation, I felt cheated that I had such a poor recruiter screening. I have had interviews with startup companies that were eons better than the experience I had at Zoom. I was expecting much more coming from a world renowned company.
