The process took 4 days. I interviewed at bp (Emsworth, England) in Apr 2016
Interview
The store manager called me and we had a brief phone interview, and she asked me to come in for a face to face chat.
The face to face took about 20 minutes, and I also had some written questions to answer - how would I deal with a suspected shoplifter?/ a manual handling task?
The interview itself asked various competency based questions like how would I cope with an abusive or violent customer and what would I do to help the team.

Interview
It took me just under two weeks to hear back after sending my application, and I was emailed an interview offer. The interview lasted roughly 40-60 minutes, and for about 20 minutes of the time I spent doing an assessment booklet and for the remainder of the time I interviewed. I did the assessment booklet first which consisted of health and safety situations, food safety and basic mathematics and patterns testing if you can spot differences. The health and safety questions were to determine what your responsibility is as a customer assistant in regards to shop lifters, food freshness, fuel spillage, attempts of underage alcohol purchases and employee safety. I also had to look at pictures where there was a clear health and safety violation - I had to point out the violation and explain what I would do if I walked into the situation and saw it unfold. I liked the assessment booklet as it does test each candidate on how they assess a day-to-day situation that will most likely arise on the shop floor. The manager took a copy of my ID and then started talking to me about my work experience, possible working hours and so on. Overall the interview was a really positive experience, it wasn't too difficult and I heard back a couple of hours later.

Question 1
Please explain your work experience (past employments) and how you would apply that experience to this job role?
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at bp (Milton Keynes, England) in Mar 2015
Interview
Very friendly feeling and close people. They offer you a coffee before starting the interview. They
start with questions about your previous experience and about what you do in your spare time. Then they ask you questions about health and safety, examples of real situations to find out what you'll do if that's happening to you. And finally they give you a test to fill in with some maths and random questions. The test was really easy.
