Today is the beginning of Pride month. It would be tone deaf and foolish to think this year’s Pride is a time for blind celebration. With the turmoil in our country today, where our Black family is fearful for their lives at the hands of a system that sees them as anything but equal, we ask that all members of the Pride community and allies remember the actions it took to get us to where we are today. It’s always important to look into instances of injustice and ask how you can work towards making yourself, your close circle, and the community you live a more inclusive and just place for all people, regardless of their skin color. The Classy community will always stand with our LGBTQ+ and Black families in the face of cruelty and prejudice. Racism has no home in our hearts.
