Description Specializing in regional less-than-truckload service (LTL), Dohrn hauls freight throughout the Midwest -- Illinois and Iowa as well as in parts of eight neighboring states. (LTL carriers consolidate loads from multiple shippers into a single trailer.) The company operates through a network of 24 terminals in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota and Nebraska. Dohrn Transfer also provides truckload freight transportation, local cartage, and warehousing services. It boasts 742 power units and more than 1,300 trailer vans as well as refrigerated trailers, flat beds, and smaller vehicles. Family owned and operated, Dohrn was founded by Gary Dohrn in 1981.
