The firm provides waste collection, disposal, and recycling services for residential, commercial, and industrial customers in Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and West Virginia. The company operates 16 landfills, 27 transfer stations, and 16 recycling facilities with a fleet of over 2,500 vehicles. The company's facilities process more than 500 million pounds of recyclables each year. In addition, Rumpke Waste & Recycling rents portable toilets and repairs and distributes hydraulic components. The Rumpke family owns the company, which was founded in 1932 by William F. Rumpke as a coal and junkyard business. Some 50 Rumpke family members are employed by their namesake company.
