The story of Fish Window Cleaning® is a genuine example of the American dream. After seven years in banking, Mike Merrick decided it was time for a change. When weighing his options, he saw a window of opportunity in a service industry that required low overhead and could be scaled quickly. In January of 1978, Merrick founded the first Fish Window Cleaning in St. Louis, MO. He would go on to develop a system that drives the success of over 270 franchise locations across the United States.

From day one, Mike wanted FISH to be a business truly dedicated to its customers. Window cleaning is one of the few needs all homes and businesses have in common. Brightening them with unwavering reliability, quality, and customer service is what sets FISH apart. It was not long before Mike realized the need for superior window cleaning service in other markets.

The first FISH franchise location opened in 1998 in Tampa, FL. Since then Fish Window Cleaning has grown into a franchise network of over 270 locations in 45 states. FISH still maintains its core values of family, tradition, and customer service. This kind of dedication is why FISH is now the nation’s largest window cleaning company.
