Mission To provide services and supports, requested and designed by individuals and families who experience disabilities, resulting in choice, control, family preservation and community inclusion.
Description Hope Community Resources, Inc. is a non-profit disabilities service provider based in Anchorage, Alaska. Founded in 1968, our company provides services and supports to people of all ages and abilities who experience either an intellectual, developmental, or other disability, traumatic brain injury, or mental health challenge. Hope’s founder, Nancy Stuart Johnson, rejected institutionalization, exclusion, and dehumanizing treatment, and instead provided a home to children with diverse cognitive and physical challenges. Hope believes that everyone has a right to independence, choice, security, and opportunity for a meaningful life.

Hope provides a wide array of services, including but not limited to supported and independent living environments, intentional neighborhoods, foster care, family habilitation, respite, behavioral and mental health supports, day habilitation, after-school programs, and vocational and recreation supports.

We provide supports to people in six regions of Alaska, including Anchorage, Mat-Su, Kodiak, Kenai, Seward, and Utqiagvik.
