Mission Sequoia Living's mission is to provide homes and services for healthy and joyful aging.

From our vibrant life plan and affordable housing communities to our engaging senior centers and community service programs, we provide friendly environments where people can explore and discover what it means to grow stronger, wiser, and more joyful.
Description Founded in 1958, Sequoia Living is a Bay Area-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing older adults with stimulating, joyful living environments and services that support and enrich their lives. Every day, our team members show up with their heads and hearts, ready to find ways to be better than we were yesterday.

At Sequoia Living, we believe that healthy aging is all about finding purpose, passion, and enjoyment. It starts with surrounding yourself with vibrant people and a place to call home that nourishes your growth. Because getting older isn’t the last chapter of a book — it’s the beginning of a new adventure where we never stop growing.

A History of Caring in the Bay Area

Deeply rooted in the concept of life care, Sequoia Living was the first
to develop a more comprehensive and inclusive retirement community
setting in the region. Since our founding in the 1950s, we’ve grown stronger through three name changes: first Northern California Presbyterian Homes, Inc., then Northern California Presbyterian Homes and Services (NCPHS), and finally Sequoia Living. Our focus has always remained the same: to provide joyful communities and
services to enrich the lives of those we serve.
