Pros

no pros to talk about at this place. avoid this company

Cons

Too much politicking going on with upper management. Its not what skills you bring to the table, but whether or not they like you personally or what area director's butt you kiss. Supervisors are overworked and grossly underpaid. "Promotions" include little more than slamming you with a huge amount of work and no pay increase. I hadn't received a raise in over 2 years. Is this even legal? Area directors are horrible. They don't answer family phone calls and are only in it for the money. They are biased, unfair and practice unethically. Several of my clients had their services canceled at the whim of the north county area director, leaving the families without necessary services when there was plenty of competent and available staff to keep these cases. 2 MAJOR CLASS ACTION MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR LAWSUITS are currently pending against ACES. Do a google search to pull up the info. They are being sued for violating California labor law. Avoid this place.

Pros

I get to do meaningful work My clients are wonderful I get to use the education I payed for I have met some wonderful people

Cons

ACES is in the mist of a multimillion dollar lawsuit from former employees for unlawful practices Poor pay Poor Hours Travel compensation is nowhere near what I spend monthly even weekly Too many "cliques" amongst coworkers HR is now run by individuals who were at one time friends and peers of current employees Lazy Supervisors Awful working conditions Difficult to get a promotion Management and supervisors are quick to throw BI under the bus and refuse to take responsibility when something goes wrong

Pros

Great place to work with special needs kids. Very comprehensive training paid by employer, and company supports you on your next certification steps. They provide corporate IPad, all work flow is online. I like this high tech approach. Job is very creative. With different clients you could build your professional skills. Flexible hours and flexible environments. We see some clients at office, at school, in the community or homes. Team of colleagues and supervisors is very helpful. I would definetely recommend this place to work with special needs kids.

Cons

To get more hours you need to figure out where to look for sub cases. Ask more experiences colleagues. Actively talk to supervisors and ask for cases. Having some cases in office will help to build connections. This job involves patience, creativirt, attention to details, using technology a lot.
