Pros
There are some nice people that work there.
Cons
Unless you’re in a circumstance where you desperately need a job and any paycheck will do or you’re a glutton for punishment, steer clear of ARI. Every department is understaffed and overworked. So you’ll have the stress and workload from doing the job of two people, but you’ll have pay that doesn’t even fairly compensate you for one job. Employee retention and career development are a joke. And if by some miracle you get a caring and supportive manager, they’ll be the target of the higher-ups in their department. Treating people with decency and respect? Not on their watch! The cost of insurance for a family is ridiculous when you consider how poorly people are paid. Yet, the main attitude from management is that people should be grateful to have a job, no matter how toxic and exploitative the culture is. Everyone’s miserable. Before COVID when everyone was on site, it was rare that a passerby would smile at you, let alone exchange pleasantries. And the soul crushing atmosphere got worse over time. ARI is a toxic stew of micromanagement, tolerating poor performance and poor behavior (including anti-blackness), low pay, high turnover, and a desire to drain the life out of employees until they’re so hopeless they stick around because they don’t have the energy or capacity to endure a job search. And the employees who aren’t still there because their souls are crushed, are the ones who benefit from the crushing. And the toxicity doesn’t stop when you leave. You’ll find yourself in your next job anticipating toxic tactics that were used at ARI like you’ve got PTSD. Run.
